There’s probably no better evidence that we should abandon representative democracy in favour of direct/liquid democracy than seeing Republicans blocking funding government agencies every few years until they are elected and can take credit for the benefits reaped by that funding.
Callous, political games that stifle efficiency, cost a fortune, have tons of negative externalities, all in an effort to protect the jobs of incumbent politicians making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in taxpayer-funded salaries.
