I'm excited that @cryptothegame's prize pool will be going towards the FreeAlexeyRoman's legal defense fund to support the legal aid of Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm, both builders of open-source privacy tools.
While I don't think that the "obvious" or "intended" purpose of this game was fundraising, I think that this outcome is quintessentially crypto. For me, CTG was an on-chain social experiment in which there was no intended direction. No producers. No pre-determinism.
It warms my heart that somehow this experiment in watching human behavior unfold on-chain ended up with funds going to a just and aligned cause for and by the community. It could have gone in any direction and it went in this one 🫶
Sure, there was a lost of psyops, manipulation and even some bullying at the end (never said our behavior was perfect, we are humans after all).
Who knows what will happen next season, I'm sure the game masters will take the outcomes of season 2 into account, and it certainly won't turn into a crowdfund experiment. Ty for everyone I met along the way, can't wait for season 3 💚
Day 9 recap. 42 players remain. Who will get your vote tomorrow on @cryptothegame ? I’ll be listening to the @boysclub pod tomorrow to make my democratically informed decision 😌
123 players eliminated on day 8 (myself included). 116 players remain 🫡
Good luck to everyone on day 9!
