Last week, we introduced a way for users without a wallet to sign-in via email as part of an ongoing effort to meet listeners wherever they are in their web3 journey.
Now, we’ve integrated with Onramper to provide users with a way to fund their wallets with ETH.
Once you’re signed in to Sound, tap your avatar and click “Add Funds”. Input the amount of ETH you want to fund, compare exchange rates between onramps, and select your preferred payment method.
Up next, we’re working on offering the option for users to directly collect editions of their favorite songs using a credit card.

On Sound.xyz we recently built something called ‘curator rewards.’ It’s a referral fee. If you share a link to music on Sound, and someone buys an NFT using that link, you get a 5% cut.
So far, fans have helped sell 5,954 NFTs through referral links. They’ve been rewarded a total of 1.9 ETH / $3.2k just by sharing their love of music.
Here are some cool ways people are using it to make money
- Share a link
The easiest way to do it is grab the link from a track you like on Sound.xyz. Share it directly on Twitter, group chats, Discord, wherever!
- Make playlists
Make a playlists of songs you love on Sound and every track automatically contains the curator fee. If someone listens to your playlist, then mints a track from it, you get paid.
- Collect and share
When you collect a track and share the news on Twitter, we automatically make it a referral link.
- Start a music blog or curator channel
In the past, music blogs had to rely on ads to monetize. Now they can be rewarded directly for curating and amplifying the best music. Add referral links to your blog posts, newsletters, social media posts.
- Build a street team
Get a group of fans together and create a street team. Share links across all your socials and fan groups around your favorite artist. Help them win and you get rewarded.
- Use music aggregators
Make a playlist on aggregators like Spinamp, FutureTape and OohLaLa which pull tracks from Sound and other platforms.
Referral links are built in so you get a cut if someone collects from a playlist you made.
