tysm for your answer <3 that sounds useful. im so used to orb and hey and feel it might be overwhelming to use other apps so ive been avoiding it, but ill give it a try!
had written up some now redundant stuff but deleted as i just saw the team replied and acknowledged the issue - they are fixing it on next update so thats reassuring. im still mindblown that this place exists where we can give feedback and the team actually listens..
again, thanks for opening this convo! it def has sparked up some interest in many of us which is good to see. i hope these kind of incidents are the start of a long-term change, not only from the team but also for us to be more willing to spend more time with each other in this way. much love
i've noticed this aswell, especially after the stickers release.
it makes sense we need time to adjust after this social change. Naturally it takes more time now to react, scroll for the stickers, wait for all of them to load (sometimes they don't), think about which reaction to add (we are lucky if we decide early and not get decision paralysis) etc so that's bad news for replies esp in this attention economy.
We use more of our energy resource in something previously would take almost none. taking into account all the energy we must give to specific tasks in our day, if you stack every little decision and action together it really adds up.
also the fact that reactions really pictures better what we think & feel than a like, this has become like a non-verbal language & convo in a way? its like the in between stage of like and reply. very interesting to witness and experience it nonetheless!
i have also noticed its quite usual for many of us to either reply hours or days later or not at all to others replies so doesn't really help incentive replies.
Orb generally gives off a not-instant communication chill vibe to me, which i understand the issues that can come up with that such as the one you mentioned, but at the same time its the reason i joined and stayed - the pressure cooker is off.
last one on a bigger scale and unrelated to the app is the switch of seasons and weather, really affects us in numerous ways esp mood, we are animals after all. its hard to be social rn!
also for the prev week lots of people were in devcon!
we need to find a balance, but maybe that needs time. we def need voices like yours who speak out about what they witness, what they like and what they dont! im all about quality convos even if that is more sparse, than quick superficial communication that is instant and frequent.
love what you did there you just reignited the reply game! thanks for opening up the convo, and thanks for reading. <3

Very close to my belief that it’s the collective unconscious ✨
Perhaps the beauty of life lies in its unpredictability
If we knew everything that was going to happen, what would make living exciting?
What feels like an ending is often the first page of a new chapter in our narrative. We frequently compare our journey to others’, but I believe that this only makes us forget the unique beauty of our own story
We need to find the courage within ourselves to see every chapter, whether a beginning or an end, as part of something magical
Embrace the unknown, and trust that our story is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to🌹
WHATTT my stupid brain is stupid so happy belated bday and congrats!! 💜💜💜🎉🫶
