🇺🇸 Cynthia Lummis has officially introduced a bill in the U.S. Senate proposing BTC as a Fed reserve asset.
The document is titled “An Act to Stimulate Innovation, Technology, and Competitiveness through Optimized Investments Nationwide.”
The main provisions of the bill are:
🖤The U.S. government must purchase 5% of Bitcoin's total issuance, emphasizing confidence in the future of this digital asset.
🖤It introduces a special program to purchase up to 200,000 BTC per year for the next five years, which could significantly impact the cryptocurrency market.
🖤A special reserve fund is planned to be created to hold digital assets with strict cybersecurity measures in place to minimize risks and protect against cyber threats.
🖤American states are given the opportunity to voluntarily act as custodians of BTC reserves, which strengthens the decentralized approach and supports the economic autonomy of regions.
