When I transformed into #digitalfashion, my curiosity was, how to make digital garments in #3D. An ocean pool of online tutorials and blogs helped me learn that skill, and I am intrigued by the #technological advancement and its applications in enormous ways.
Meanwhile, in my creative adventures, I recently came across z-emotion and their secret to making the workflow hassle-free to unreal engine and more.
I am excited to begin my Brand Ambassador Program and z-weave training with Z-emotion. The software comes with a very clean interface and tools to navigate for creating fashion.
I am sharing my first attempt today in z-weave and I am amazed by the real-time rendering viewport to see the textures. Though it is simulation software, it comes with a tremendous scope of editing details, like animation speed and auto-capture animation.And believe me! Let me give you a quick backstory. As a fashion design graduate from India, I initially delved into the world of handweaving and handcrafted fabrics. During my academic journey, I had the incredible opportunity to work with one of the endangered crafts in Chizami village, part of a northeastern network in India. There, I got up close and personal with the beauty of weaving and hand embroidery.
However, my passion for handicrafts hit a roadblock despite its sustainability aspect. Well, I realized that the speed of technology is like a superhero—impossible to catch, and the future belongs to tech power.
Fast forward to today. I've been immersed in digital art for over two years now, navigating the realms of AI. And guess what? My long-lost passion for embroidery seems to have found a new home in the world of tech. The latest update in Midjourney V6 has brought forth astonishing results, especially in the details.
Just imagine—the same technology that powers my creativity could empower local artisans as well. They could effortlessly master their patterns and aesthetics, diversify their product range, and do all this with detailed references and clarity. There is no need for them to invest in Fortnite for design iterations.
My prompts were based on keywords: knitted, golden zari, ombre shiny threads, handwoven, and embroidery. The results, well you see for yourself. Because of some of the embroidery, I'm eyeing for my physical closet!

2023 was a game changer in my journey as a 3D artist and a digital fashion designer. It started with a few commissions, which helped in understanding the business use cases and applications of digital fashion products in the Web2 industry as well.
It is like opening a window into the intricate world of client behaviour and the ever-evolving needs of the market. It is always more than delivering a service and understanding the communications that shape client preferences.
On the other hand, engaging in a variety of projects pushes my creative mind to handle challenges and provide a diverse landscape to navigate with available knowledge. Hence, each project and every small detail becomes a playground for innovation. It enhances my portfolio, allows for learning opportunities, and gives me chances to evolve as a designer.
Throughout the year, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the wonderful community of @the-alana-project . Each discord channel within this community serves as a reservoir of knowledge and enjoyable learning experiences. Many of my challenges found resolution through the generous support I received. It's a space that consistently extends substantial support and safeguards accurate knowledge. During my collaboration with The ALANAMagzine, I cultivated a keen interest in AR wearables.
