japanimotion was a segment from an old cable channel called locomotion, running from 2000 to 2003, where i first dove into anime. as a kid who wasn’t exposed to deeper, more mature anime before, aside from pokemon and dragon ball z it hit different.

gundam wing, ghost in the shell, cowboy bepop, akira, etc., were a whole vibe. locomotion was even the first in latin america to drop neon genesis evangelion, way before anyone else caught on and 20 years before everyone became a fan, i watched those for the first time while still in elementary school, and even though my parents didn’t allow me to watch the channel openly because of the obvious content of the shows the aired including south park also way before mtv, i did it hiding from them anyway 😂

those shows shaped how i saw the world, the future, and tech back then, so my track japanimotion is pure love for the era that built me, because the tv ad background music is similar to what i made in this one
