😂😂 I’d love to say this particular situation was anyone else’s fault other than mine, but… it’s not 🙈
Memecoins have zero logic to them (they’re not meant to). It’s a straight up ponzi. In and out before the rest. If there’s deep enough liquidity then whales are excited because they can dump harder.
I generally stay way away. Threw a small amount at one of them and it ripped within 48 hours. Now I’m out again.
I can’t ever imagine me being in the mindset where I’d go in size on this stuff. Basically pure gambling at that stage.
I think music NFTs are very similar (in their purchase motivation) to vinyl. I’m a big vinyl collector and I do it to 1) support the artists I love, and 2) to have a physical collectible.
With music NFTs you get the collectible and you can directly support the artist, but the additional layer of entering yourself into a circle of superfans that receive ongoing benefits/proximity to artists is where it creates even greater value.
We just need more seamless integrations of NFTs into music consumption. IMO, every vinyl/CD/cassette sold should have an accompanying NFT.
Hiring the best talent in the world to run these programs too. Starting salary… £50k 🙈 (not even joking)
