La souris a accepté, mais en arrivant au bord d'un ruisseau, le chat a glissé et la souris est tombée à l'eau. Le chat a immédiatement sauté à l'eau pour sauver la souris. Celle-ci, très reconnaissante, a déclaré : "Tu es un vrai ami, tu m'as sauvé la vie !". Le chat a répondu : "Ne t'en fais pas, c'est normal entre amis. Mais je te préviens, la prochaine fois, je te laisse tomber !".
