Open source is the foundation of software development, but is often not sustainable for maintainers and contributors. It’s a problem as old as the internet, and today we’re solving it for good.
Merge to earn is a GitHub app to automate rewarding contributors with a slice of ownership over a project and its earnings, when pull requests are merged.
It enables a transparent, equitable reward system for collaborative development in any repo.

How it works
Maintainers verify a request is adequate, and once the PR is merged the MTE bot automatically proposes a transaction on the project's Gnosis Safe.
MTE can be added to any repo without disrupting existing workflows, while project owners can use custom Github options and permissions to fit their needs.
See it in action on this PR: github.com/slice-so/merge-to-earn/pull/4

Installation
Merge to earn relies on Slicers and Gnosis Safes to respectively split project ownership and execute approved requests.
Installing it on a repo takes seconds on mte.slice.so.

It's worth pointing out that the Slice protocol allows projects to create revenue streams simply by directing payments to the slicer ETH address, or by selling products on its decentralized store.
As well as compose on top of the whole Ethereum ecosystem.

So far we installed Merge to earn on these repos:
Merge to earn: github.com/slice-so/merge-to-earn
Price feed: github.com/slice-so/uniswap-v3-price-feed
So by contributing to them anyone can own a piece of the relative project. Soon we'll expand it to our whole codebase.

We're truly excited at the impact Merge to earn could have in web3, open source development and beyond.
We can't wait to see how you'll use it, and help you make the most of it.
