In this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Andy Boyan and Andrew Redden about their latest project, Hypurr Finance, a lending platform built for Hyperliquid and on the HyperEVM.
Hyperliquid recently executed one of the largest and most successful airdrops in crypto history, and we start the episode by unpacking the strategy and impacts behind that and the LAST team’s rationale behind building HypurrFi on HyperEVM.
We also talked about the future of DeFi, the impact of decentralization, and the new dynamics in cryptocurrency ecosystems.
Andy previously appeared on Rehash in S4 E3 | Rules of Game Design w/Andy Boyan.

This is nice but debatable.
Airdrops are broken and talentprotocol.lens provides a partial fix IMO.
Reputations are now being farmed as well. Airdrop farms can have high contributions via several wallets and still dump the token if they want.
IMO airdrop farmers include both high and low quality contributors and recently, these ecosystem contributors are still dumpers.
Just to add a few.
Airdrops are broken... But we can fix them 🪂
Traditional airdrops are often plagued by farmers and low-quality users, that will dump tokens immediately after receiving them. This results in rewards going to people who contribute little to the ecosystem, undermining the very purpose of airdrops.
But what if we could change this? What if airdrops were based on something more meaningful than just a wallet address? Thanks to @talentprotocol, we now have a way to fix this problem by leveraging reputation as a measure for reward distribution.
Fair and Inclusive Rewards
By segmenting users based on both onchain and offchain activity, protocols can ensure fairer, more efficient airdrop distribution. This approach rewards the top onchain builders, who are often the most engaged users and likely to provide valuable feedback and long-term support for the protocol.
A Balanced Reward System
The beauty of this system is its inclusivity. Users aren’t split into a binary of “good” or “bad.” For example, a protocol can use the Builder Score from Talent Protocol to give top builders larger rewards, allocate substantial rewards to high-quality users, and still ensure that high-volume, lower-quality users aren’t left empty-handed. This ensures a balanced and rewarding experience for all, rather than focusing solely on volume.
How to do it?
At @talentprotocol, we’re building a robust reputation protocol that taps into rich data from both onchain and offchain sources, involving over 2 million builders. With the Builder Score (your overall score) and Credentials (skills, achievements, and influence), protocols can easily gate reward distribution through a few lines of code via our API.
What are you waiting for, anon? Let’s start building!
