🌱🌞 Greenhouse vs Open Soil: Growing Your Own Veggies from Seed! 🌞🌱
🌿 Did you know growing your vegetable plants from seed in a greenhouse can make a world of difference? 🌍 Here are some benefits and tips to get you started with a simple DIY greenhouse for your seedlings. 🌱
✅ Benefits of Greenhouse vs Open Soil:
1️⃣ Controlled Environment: In a greenhouse, you can regulate temperature, humidity, and light exposure, ensuring your veggies get the best start in life. 🌡️💧☀️
2️⃣ Extended Growing Season: Greenhouses enable you to start your seeds earlier and harvest later, increasing your growing season and yield. 📅🥦
3️⃣ Pest Protection: Greenhouses can help protect your young plants from pests and diseases, reducing the need for harmful pesticides. 🐛🚫
4️⃣ Weather Resistance: Your seedlings are safe from unexpected weather changes, giving them a better chance to thrive. 🌦️🛡️
🔨 DIY Easy Greenhouse Tips:
1️⃣ Simple Structure: Start with a basic frame made from PVC pipes or wooden pallets, and cover it with plastic sheeting. Make sure it's sturdy enough to withstand wind! 🌬️🏗️
2️⃣ Ventilation: Don't forget to include vents or openings for air circulation. You can use old windows or cut flaps in the plastic sheeting. 🌬️💨
3️⃣ Insulation: Add bubble wrap or foam to insulate your greenhouse and maintain the temperature for your seedlings. ❄️🔥
4️⃣ Seed Trays: Use seed trays or repurposed containers to start your seeds. Remember to label them to keep track of your plants' progress! 🌱🏷️
Get those green thumbs ready and start growing your own veggies from seed in a greenhouse! 🌿🍅 #GreenhouseGardening #GrowYourOwn #GardenTips
A 4/20 GotchiTale; Astra and the Pipe of Peace 👻🌳🔥💨
Once a year, around April 20th, Aavegotchi's prepare their mystical herbs and gather around to hear the tale of Aastra the Shamaan Gotchi and the Mythical Pipe of Peace;
Once upon a time in the mystical Gotchiverse, there resided a wise and powerful Shaman Aavegotchi named Aastra. Aastra had unlocked the secrets of the ethereal realm and often ventured to unfamiliar lands in search of profound knowledge and spiritual insights.
Aastra met countless Aavegotchis who were struggling with their fears, uncertainties, and doubts. With each encounter, she offered them a chance to smoke from her enchanted peace pipe, and as they did, they felt their FUD-based negativity dissipate, replaced by a sense of calm and tranquility.
Word of Aastra's miraculous peace pipe spread like wildfire, and soon, Aavegotchis from every corner of the Gotchiverse sought her help. Each life touched by Astra's magic was forever changed, and the once-foreboding Tree of FUD no longer held its sinister grip on the hearts and minds of the Aavegotchis.
How did this Pipe of Peace come to be?
The Creation of Astra's Enchanted Peace Pipe
When Aastra the Shaman Aavegotchi set forth on her journey to the Ancient Tree of FUD, she knew that she would need the help of these legendary components. With great courage, she ventured into the Forest of FUD and harvested the Godlike Lumber of the Canna-kek tree. She then braved the depths of the Phantastic Grounds and retrieved the coveted Alpha Crystals.
Using her wisdom, Aastra secured a Piece of Sergey's Shirt and, with great care, plucked a leaf from a Tree of FUD sapling, also known as a FUDling. With all the components gathered, she crafted her enchanted peace pipe, imbuing it with the power to quell fears and anxieties.
Upon completing her quest, Aastra used the Pipe of Peace to help countless Aavegotchis overcome their fears and achieve inner harmony. The legend of Aastra and her enchanted Peace Pipe became an integral part of the Gotchiverse's folklore, inspiring generations of Aavegotchis to face their fears and embrace their true potential.
The Pipe of Peace is an intricate device and even Aastra does not fully understand its' inner workings. Aastra's notebook contains the struggles from the perilous journeys it took to secure the scarce materials needed.
Join us for the District 4/20 Special on April 20th @4pm EST to hear tales of Astra's adventures from her notebook, Smoke some good herb, and get in on some really dank prizes! 👇👇👇

Apologies for the late update! Seedlings are real fragile, I left these out in the sun for a bit too long, came back to find them crispy. So we start again. I start my tomatoes from seed every year, I can pick off the weaker plants and only keep the hardy ones. Plus, Garden store seedlings are crazy expensive where I live
🌱 10 Essential Tips for Growing Plants from Seed 🌱
In crypto we often focus on sovereignty of money, here on Lens we focus on sovereignty of our social identity.
Choose quality seeds: Invest in high-quality seeds from a reputable supplier to ensure better germination rates and healthy plants.
Proper seed storage: Store seeds in a cool, dry, and dark place. Use airtight containers to maintain seed viability.
Timing is key: Start seeds indoors or outdoors based on the ideal time for the specific plant. Follow seed packet instructions for the best planting times.
Prepare the soil: Use a well-draining seed-starting mix that is moist but not soggy. This will help prevent seed rot and promote root growth.
Plant at the right depth: Sow seeds according to the recommended depth on the seed packet. Planting too shallow or too deep may hinder germination.
Keep it warm: Most seeds need a consistent temperature between 65-75°F (18-24°C) to germinate. Use a heat mat if necessary to maintain the ideal temperature.
Maintain humidity: Cover seed trays or pots with a clear plastic lid or plastic wrap to retain moisture and create a greenhouse effect. Remove the cover once seedlings emerge.
Provide ample light: Seedlings need at least 12-16 hours of bright, indirect light. Use a grow light if natural sunlight is insufficient.
Water wisely: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Use a fine mist spray to avoid disturbing the delicate seeds and seedlings.
Transplant with care: Once seedlings have developed their first set of true leaves, transplant them into larger containers or directly into the garden. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions before planting them permanently.
Happy planting! 🌿🌻🍅 Share these tips with fellow gardeners and let's grow together! #GrowingFromSeed #GardeningTips #PlantLove

Due to restrictions outside of our control, there was no choice but to use an above-ground setup. Typically when you grow vegetables planting them right into the ground is the way to go. Ground planting allows for better temperature distribution.
The biggest challenge with using these above ground planters is going to be temperature control. The soil here will heat up rapidly during the day and cool off significantly at night so finding hardy strains to plant is important.
