Lens V2 announced today at #ethcc 馃嚝馃嚪 with a lot of exciting updates and features!
Summary of biggest updates:
I spun up a quick Dockerfile and a Render.com blueprint to run a Lens Momoka verifier
If you happen to be using Render, or just want the basic Dockerfile - it's here - github.com/LearnWeb3DAO/momoka-on-render
You have to specify a NODE_URL env var when running the docker container
Alright, appreciate the answer.
my follow up question is re: the centralization of the dispatcher. As Lens aims to become fully decentralized eventually at some point, what will happen to the concept of dispatchers? I get why it's currently behind an application and whitelist, because otherwise anyone can post anything on anyone's behalf if they sign once, but eventually who controls this whitelist?
question for lens folks cc @nader.lens @stani.lens
a dispatcher essentially has an 'infinite approval' to do actions on a user's behalf - re: posts, comments, etc.
currently, there is a "official" lens dispatcher - and other dispatchers need to be whitelisted through a form
going forward, what is the plan to have the ease of use that comes with a dispatcher combine with the decentralization of not needing to trust "official"/"approved" dispatchers only who, to my understanding, can essentially do whatever they want even if the user didn't explicitly ask them do?
or do you think in the long run, something like AA will allow for session-key signing under the hood which enables the integrity of the broadcast method without the clunky UX of signing every action?
My grandmother passed away a few days ago at 96, and it's been challenging getting back to work. I couldn't go visit her in India unfortunately, but found solace in the fact that 1,000 people came from her village to say their last words at her funeral.
You don't need to be famous to be missed, just a nice person.
Rest in peace Naani, we'll miss you 馃挏
