In march I decided to see I could do a professional style boxing training camp despite - and partly because of - some pretty nasty health issues that materialized in December. I’d never thrown a punch before in my life. Never been in a fight. I wasn’t an athlete at all. I did the camp. Cut 20 pounds. Last week got in the pit with 4 oz gloves and no headgear, no shin guards for an MMA style fight, fully aware of the fact that if I got starched I would be haunted by a permanent highlight following me around online forever. And it won’t be the last time either.
