Capturing mundane moments in the streets.

As I emerge from 3 weeks in a RV rummaging around Hokkaido I wanted to highlight some of my art available w words on each (:
Starting w my SuperRare genesis works created in Japan last year we have _BLURREDLEYES, something that took months of coordination, planning, + risk of arrest, as I was hanging out the side of a train pointing a camera at the conductor. TBH I was more scared of serious injury as a couple inches too far & I could smack my hand or head on a pole, gate, or wall as we picked up speed. An image indicative of being present in the moment + avoiding future regret for not having paid attention. A monumental step in my art career having work on this platform in association w Sloika / Montage that I’m super appreciative for. superrare.com/0xa077d3016c19a4d7c971f193a372f9f0d65f5d3e/_blurredleyes-26
Next, _GLOWTING, a combination of multiple elements that make up my life + what I experience here in the NFT space that holds a fascination w cyberpunk. Re-visiting a special place for amazing snow/snowboarding while being able to utilize such a location for creation is very cherished. Including my good friend @lens makes it even better while on an insane snowboard trip (that we just 10-upped this year somehow). An image indicative of the curiosity from below looking up at those protected by privilege above that we face as digital artists here daily wondering if we’ll ever get our shot or if success is truly predetermined. superrare.com/0xa077d3016c19a4d7c971f193a372f9f0d65f5d3e/_glowting-25
Now on to Foundation/Manifold minted works beginning w _TRANSLACID. A similar theme as above w regards to seeing clearly in fleeting moments. Environmental awareness during travel is often hindered by device addiction. Beautiful, multi-layered scenes may be right in front of you, perhaps only w a small step to the right or left while waiting for a train to pass, but only if your head is up. At a station that was my frequent pass-through last year which happens to be above ground + partially outside creating a varied temperature combination of natural flat light + fluorescent glow on most days or sun beams/reflections with shadows on others. foundation.app/@lens/lens/lens/grams/grams1of1/3
Other FDN pieces include _PRANSELADAMS, a true moment of chance that can never be recreated again in this lifetime or the next, snapped in the streets of NYC, I was meaning to frame an image of these pencil towers sprouting up all over the city but as I hit the shutter a bird, mid-flight, mid-GLIDE centers itself perfectly? Unreal, right? There’s also _ROWEDMAP, a look into the lives of those offline going about their day without a care in the world of the things most of us drown in angst of, created on the Caribbean Sea in Guatemala as we embarked on a torrential downpour of a journey up the Rio Dulce for 2.5 hours headed inland to explore the Mayan ruins of Tikal. I then turned 30 years old w my feet dangling off an scient pyramid, to the second (: (pictured last) foundation.app/@grams/grams1of1/1 foundation.app/@grams/1OF1GRAMS/4
Last but not least, part of my first solo exhibition, PHOTOGRAPHYSBORING, held at FICE Gallery in SLC, Utah + on Nifty Gateway w associated digital elements. A collection challenging the capture of movement in stillness + stillness in movement. I’m bored of most things in “photography” from who represents it to stereotypes about us to the quality of work being produced, the rules, etc. so I chose to follow none. I wanted to paint digitally w the tool I choose to frequently use. Scenes that could never be exactly replicated. Pixel stroked in the rail arteries of Tokyo across 3 months last winter. Every 1/1 comes w a 48x32” canvas, or every canvas comes w a NFT, however you wish to look at it - there is a digital certificate of ownership for physical work or vice versa. I don’t wish to exclude interested parties from my art distribution but this tends to be an issue today with web2 goers still not comprehending the world we live in here. www.niftygateway.com/collections/photographysboring
If you’ve made it this far I thank you for taking the time out of your day to read about what I do 🙏hopefully my work stimulates your brain or challenges you to put the phone away + observe your surroundings so you too may be blessed w scenes you otherwise would miss! Appreciate everyone’s support always 🤍
Shouts out to @orbapp on @lens for allowing creators to get creative w how we release work, news, collectibles etc. Hodlers of any of the above will receive multiple 5GEEZUS pieces in addition to tiering via my @p00ls token, FUCKURJPEG, which will be redeemable IN APP to collect BTS moments, sketches, things that go into the creation of the final product. Only possible w all the hard workers of web3 systems 🙏
I’d probably fly, but if you have some time I’d take the train and slowly make your way that way. You can stop for a few days along the way.
I’ve been quiet around here lately with a lot of time spent with my parents visiting. Eager to get back into it!
I had the chance to visit Fukuoka on a little trip, the place is amazing. A lot of great vibes and the city is super walkable. I liken it to a much smaller cross section of what you’d find in say Tokyo. The big buildings are there but the sprawl isn’t.
I was at this Prada Frames event at M+ during Art Basel a few weeks ago. All things considered I should have made my way down to M+ much earlier. The entire space (not just architecturally) but as a concept is pretty amazing for a city so starved for some creative wins.
I went specifically for a talk from Jacques Herzog and after the talk I just stumbled around and captured this shot of ifc (International Finance Centre).
I like these types of shots that leverage the foreground to showcase a bit of human interaction against a man-made structure.
Lololol practically speaking, in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, on the waterfront
I spotted this guy from about 15 feet away. I immediately saw something about him, NFG haha just chilling on the waterfront.
I walked up with the Ricoh GR III and just snapped a few shots off.
The dandelion shot is sick.
