I was inspired by my five year old girl to create this story about pirates and sweets, I hope you like it as much as she did.
Children's story: Captain Candy and the Bonsai Tree
Once upon a time there was a pirate called Captain Candy. He was no ordinary pirate, because instead of looking for gold treasure he sailed on a sea of sweets. His ship, the Sweet Wind, was made of chocolate and had sails made of candyfloss.
One day, while sailing on a sea with licorice waves, Captain Candy found a very special island. In the centre of the island was a bonsai tree with leaves that were as sweet as sugar. The bonsai tree was called Sweet Leaves.
The pirate realised that Sweetleaf needed special care to stay healthy and happy. So he decided to stay on the island to take care of the bonsai. Every day, Captain Candy watered Sweetleaf with honey water and sang songs to make it grow strong.
The other pirates made fun of the Captain because they thought that taking care of a tree was not a pirate thing to do. But he ignored them because he knew that caring for nature was very important. In time, the other pirates saw how the island became more beautiful because of the Captain's care and started to help him.
Thus Captain Candy taught everyone that even pirates can have a good side and that caring for nature is a great adventure.
