The Aave DAO just approved a V3 pool designed specifically for @lidofinance stETH and wstETH.
This new Lido pool is the first custom deployment on Aave V3, showcasing the protocolβs versatility and capability to optimize specific use cases.
Liquid staking tokens currently comprise the largest market share of collateral assets on Aave. stETH is the largest collateral source on Aave, with $4.63B supplied, or ~30% of the total Ethereum V3 market size.
This new market enables the Aave DAO to optimize ETH borrowing dynamics by tuning collateralization and interest rate parameters in an isolated market. It minimizes cross collateral risk from other tokens and creates a venue to introduce new Lido Alliance partner tokens.
Importantly, this deployment paves the way for a new strategy: custom deployments can be done by third parties to optimize parameters for specific use cases such as institutional or isolated collateral markets.
Lido will provide liquidity incentives to users & builders for novel use cases of staked ETH, supporting further growth of the Lido ecosystem and making Aave the preferred venue for users who leverage wstETH.

At Open Finance Day Brussels, the keynote panel with @stani, Mo Shaikh, Sergey Nazarov, moderated by Laura Shin, discussed the resiliency and maturation of DeFi and what a multi-chain future might look like.
βBanks and regulators are all trying to figure out how to participate in this space. That facilitation requires responsible approaches across the boardβ¦weβve been rebuilding that trust collectively.β - Mo Shaikh
Secure governance processes often go unnoticed until they are needed the most. How does the Aave DAO approach governance? Let's break it down π
The first thing to know about Aave DAO is its phased voting. Anyone can introduce a topic in the governance forum, and the Aave community can signal initial support with a public "temp check" vote. If there's enough support, the Aave community is formally invited to provide feedback on the proposal through the Aave Final Request for Comment (ARFC) vote.
Any proposal which passes the ARFC phase and requires an onchain payload moves to the Aave Improvement Proposal ("AIP") phase. An AIP is the proposal payload which will be submitted onchain and voted on by the community.
An important feature of AIPs is a "timelock delay" (see image) where community guardians can halt a malicious payload if necessary. Most protocol updates have a 1 day timelock delay. Updating core permissions for Aave Governance initiates a 7 day timelock delay.
Beyond the governance process itself, decentralization requires consistent participation from token holders and organizations alike. Aave DAO historically has had some of the most active governance: 661 proposals, 74.2K lifetime participating addresses, and 1.7M votes.
Another key feature of Aave's governance is the Aave Guardians. These community-elected members safeguard the protocol by executing emergency measures if facing an unexpected event like a governance takeover.
<docs.aave.com/governance/master/aave-guardians>
The Governance Emergency Guardian is authorized to veto onchain proposals within a limited timeframe, safeguarding against potential governance takeovers.
Another aspect Aave DAO governance security is that voting can occur on multiple interfaces.

β’ Boardroom: boardroom.io/aave/proposals
β’ BGD Labs' Interface: <vote.onaave.com/>
And finally, @bgdlabs, an Aave DAO service provider, created the Seatbelt Report, which meticulously analyzes and decodes governance payloads to ensure that state changes are as intended.

The Aave DAO encourages active discussions so feel free to drop into the governance forum (<governance.aave.com/)>>) with a question or a proposal or even ask Skyward, a free service from @aavechan, for help on your proposal.

Chatting with your data will soon be possible on Lens thanks to @ruthless!
Why are user-owned platforms so important for creators and builders?
When you choose to trust a platform to share your work and ideas, you are giving it immense value. But what do you get in return?Β
With Lens, you get the features to control how you monetize, split your revenue, and how you grow and manage your social graph.Β Β Why does this matter?Β
NFTs are narrative-driven, ever-changing, and above all, subject to market conditions. For instance, NFTs now are being described as a distribution strategy β which is different from how we spoke about them before and without the record-breaking sales of previous cycles. Creators in the NFT space have felt the brunt of these narrative changes β from royalty removals to the open-edition mint eclipsing 1-of-1 NFTs.
With Lens, all features are built with the vision of a user-owned internet in mind. Builders get the flexibility of picking and choosing features, no matter the current obsession or narrative.Β
Collectibles, publications, profiles, handles, collects β all are customizable.Β
So you might be asking, why trust Lens over what everyone else does? The simple answer is: you shouldn't. You should verify. Read our docs. Ask your technical friends. See for yourself :)
