Hey everyone! This post is my attempt at some Socratic philosophy. Please read it scenically and with an open mind. The goal of this dialect is to either disprove atheism, or prove that there are two planes of reality. As a gnostic, this is an important exercise in affirming or proving my personal beliefs of the hypostasis. If you think of a good criticism, I would really enjoy it!
Here it goes:
So we are going to start by making two assumptions that have to be true for reality to exist in only one plane of existence.
The first assumption is: The universe must be infinite. If this is untrue then the universe must be contained within another set of reality.
The second assumption is that: consciousness is created by a summation of atomic like particles. If this is untrue then consciousness is arising (or in my biased opinion connecting) to our perceived plane of reality.
So the first natural question is this: Is consciousness made up of matter?
We look at the laws defined and say, “yes, consciousness is made up of matter.”
The next question is this, “Given infinite time, should our consciousness be reconstructed by the realignment of matter.”
When we look at the laws defined we should answer, “Yes, given an infinite time after death our consciousness should be reconstructed, and it should in fact be ‘us.’”
The next question is more perplexing: “Based on the statement that consciousness can be reconstructed given an infinite amount of time, would you say that in an infinite universe, you should be conscious in greater than one location?”
While unintuitive, the answer according to our laws is: “yes, of course.”
Now the follow up is the real killer, “Then why aren’t you? Why aren’t you or any of the other of billions of humans on earth experiencing.”
The clear answer is that one of the two laws is incorrect, imo disproving the notion of atheism. The best counter arguments imo are the monist-everything is happening in your head, but I still think that’s two planes: your head and perceived reality. And, there’s also the argument that consciousness is serial, not continuous, and generated in parallel with the surrounding universe, so the laws would be true and you would just be interacting with parallel universes simultaneously, but I don’t really buy that personally. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed and please lmk your thoughts!
Should Lens have more support for languages such as translations and content discovery based on local languages?
