after reading cain鈥檚 book on writing, i thought her own fiction must be beautiful too. and it is. so so sensual, moody, detail-rich, and poetic. i loved being in this novel, its discussion on art and femaledom. its texture and tone will stay with me for a long time, i鈥檓 sure.
