Blockchain Developer. Working on building the next generation of social media.
There is no such thing as “selling too early”. If you made profit, you won.
You simply can not predict the top.
Nature is overrated. All I want in life is to drive around in a Tesla on auto-pilot while watching TikToks through my Apple Vision Pro.
It's super exciting to see the community discussing the idea of going permissionless under LIP-5 on GitHub. Here is a quick rundown of the main points raised so far:
- Spam and Quality Control: concerns about handling spam and ensuring a smooth transition.
- Community Engagement: suggestions for community and developer engagement in the protocol's growth.
- Phased Onboarding Approach: opinions on prioritizing certain user groups, like Farcaster users, for initial access with varied views on the speed and extent of opening the platform.
- Infrastructure Utilization: ideas about using existing Lens infrastructure, like Momoka, for scaling and transaction management
If you have a specific idea on how to best open up the Lens gates, make sure to leave your feedback under the PR. Read the full discussion and contribute here: github.com/lens-protocol/LIPs/pull/29
If I had to guess, I'd say about 70% of ideas are lost because they aren't written down. Establishing a good note-taking system goes such a long way and will help you capture those great ideas you're looking for.
Enabling users to personalize their experience on social apps by choosing from a variety of high-quality, open-source content recommendation algorithms.
Developers can monetize their algorithms, and users get full transparency.
What do we need to make this happen?
Are you in blockchain because you want to maximise your short term ROI or because you have a genuine vision for building a better web?
No judgements, just genuinely curious.
One great thing about DeSoc is that it encourages competition between apps.
Because the social graph is public, new apps can more easily gain market share by tapping into an existing user group.
This means innovation will always win.
Can anyone recommend podcasts about decentralized social? I’m interested in @lensprotocol, Farcaster, et cetera.
