RI National Data Center Hacker Asks for Donations in the Form of Monero (XRM) Giovanny Since June 20 2024, the government has been in a panic regarding the ransomware attack from the Brain Chiper group against the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) 2 in Surabaya. This attack put Indonesian people's data at risk of being exploited and more than 200 institutions in Indonesia were affected. Hackers initially demanded a ransom of US$8 million or the equivalent of Rp. 131 billion from the government if they wanted to get the key to access the encrypted data. However, the request was rejected by the government, which preferred to restore the data from scratch because it did not have a backup.
