📍Sahara Algérien - Désert Algérien, Algeria 🇩🇿
Symbol of hope and life, desert oases.
The first cities were born around them because water is the most precious resource in the desert, and those who have it, have everything.
Today, oases are attractive not only to locals but also to tourists, especially in countries like Algeria, where mass tourism is scarce, and everything is authentically preserved. Since Berbers make up around 15% of Algeria's population, with the majority residing in the Sahara, they welcomed us here and prepared a lunch.
A meal in Algeria is incomplete without tea and couscous, which, I must admit, has started to feel a bit monotonous. I can't recall a destination where I've had more meat in my diet. With every meal, meat is served, typically lamb, the most delicious kind, and at first, you might not even realize exactly which type of meat it is. But after a few days, I truly longed for more variety in my meals.
In this oasis, we were accompanied by a lovely camel, and I haven't seen such a strong bond between an animal and its owner in a long time (check out the second photo, it's my favorite from this journey 🥰).
I'm not entirely sure about the precise location of this oasis; we stopped here on our way from Garda to El Golea. So, if anyone is intrigued by stories from Algeria and plans to visit soon, be aware that oases are quite common in this region 🌴🐪🫖
