Deep Dive: A Comprehensive Introduction to the Ordinals Ecosystem and Some Project Overviews I. Ordinals Concept Bitcoin has a total supply of 21 million coins, with the smallest unit being the satoshi (sats), where 1 BTC is equal to 100 million sats. The Ordinals protocol is a system that assigns a unique sequence number to each sat, thus giving each sat its distinctiveness. Inscription, on the other hand, is the act of engraving text, image, audio, video, or other files on sats, which is commonly referred to as BTC NFTs. II. Why Participate in the Ordinals Ecosystem
1.The cryptocurrency market tends to hype new trends, and the BTC ecosystem, being a big theme, is expected to become the new and major hype direction. It's a way of going back to the BTC's roots. 2.As of now, ETH lacks a new narrative direction, and thus it will be continuously bled dry by the BTC ecosystem, with many leading players having already migrated from the ETH ecosystem to the BTC ecosystem. 3.Both Inscription and BRC20 in the BTC ecosystem are in a complete incremental market, with the current total number of users and funds still less than the daily active users and funds of the ETH ecosystem. The potential for growth is enormous. 4.Inscription is a truly permanent on-chain record, with each inscription engraved on sats, which can even be used as sats. Inscription will never be zero, and that's cool. 5.Yugalabs is already here, Bugatti is on the way, and more well-known brands will choose to lay out on Ordinals. 6.The current status quo in the cryptocurrency market is to eat meat early and be cut late. Ordinals just happens to be in the early stage. III. Mainstream Wallets Ordinals mainly uses the wallet format with addresses starting with bc1p. You can purchase BTC from exchanges and withdraw them to these addresses. 1. @unisat_wallet : the rising star of Chinese wallets, currently only available as a browser plugin. The wallet can smoothly connect to the two mainstream trading markets and support trading. 2.@xverseApp : an established Bitcoin wallet with independent app and plugin versions. It runs smoothly even with Magic Eden, but cannot connect to the Ordinals wallet, probably due to OW issues. 3.@hirowallet : another well-known BTC wallet that is widely used. 4.@SparrowWallet : currently the safest wallet, where many people keep their most valuable assets, either in this or a cold wallet. However, it has some technical operational barriers. 5.@getAlby : a wallet specialized in lightning network that provides smooth and fast transfers, and the lightning network is expected to have more extensive applications in the future. Ⅳ.Mainstream Trading Platforms: 1.@ordinalswallet - A relatively early Ordinals marketplace that is currently one of the most active trading platforms. Users can log in and buy and sell through the plugin wallet. 2.@MEonBTC - A leading trading platform on the original Solana blockchain, now also active in the BTC market. 3.@ordswap - One of the earliest native Ordinals marketplaces, only accessible through its web wallet and has not been updated for a long time. However, due to its early launch and many existing users, there is still some trading volume. Ⅴ. Inscription Minting (Proxy Services): 1.@unisat_wallet - A rapidly rising Chinese wallet that offers affordable prices and frequent updates. Users can mint inscriptions such as images, videos, text, and BRC20 tokens through the wallet. 2.@rarity_garden (also known as looksordinal) - A new proxy minting platform that offers cheaper prices for BRC20 tokens and text-based inscriptions than Unisat. However, users should pay attention to some small details while using this platform, as there have been past incidents of lost BTC. Nevertheless, these issues have been largely resolved and there are no significant problems with the platform now. Note: There are many older proxy minting platforms, but currently they have no advantage and are not recommended. Ⅵ.LaunchPad (Initial Offering): 1.@MEonBTC : Also one of the mainstream trading markets mentioned above, currently launches projects that are relatively better in quality compared to others. 2.@ordinalswallet : One of the mainstream trading markets that likes to launch surprise projects. Currently, profits are good as long as it is an OW project, but for independent projects, it is recommended to distinguish carefully. Note:There are many others, but it is difficult to find an outstanding one among these platforms. Most of them are cut-and-run schemes, so participation should be cautious. Ⅶ.Communication and Learning: @OrdinalsCN : The largest Chinese Ordinals community, often links industry experts and high-quality projects, frequently holds Space events for communication, can join their Discord channel through Twitter, and sometimes shares WeChat group codes. All the Chinese Ordinals OGs are here. Ⅷ.Introduction to Some Projects Because many newcomers ask what projects they can participate in, this section has been added. Of course, more projects are welcome to be added in the comments, and it is everyone's mission to let more people know about the high-quality projects on Ordinals. Inscription (BTC NFT) 1.@sub10k - The top 10,000 inscriptions, currently the strongest consensus in the entire Ordinals ecosystem. Of course, collections are even better. 2.@TaprootWizards - The Grand Wizard, leading the trend of wizard bathrobes across the entire network, a landmark event. It was selling for up to 0.5 BTC before the whitelist was even released, and is considered a blue-chip in the industry. Note: This is a knowledge-sharing post and I don't want to say too much about project introductions. I have listed some projects that I personally like, and you can research them yourself: @PepesPixel , @ordinalhub , @Ordinal_Miners , @JOMOHippo , @mavensbot , @BitcoinFrogs , @Clay_Pepe ,@OrdzGames , In addition, @Bitcoin_Punks__ and @BitcoinApes_ communities have also developed well, and other projects need to be explored in the market. BRC20 (issuing coins on the Bitcoin chain) 1.Ordi: The first coin of BRC20, just like BTC has been sitting firmly in the top spot for many years. Currently, the off-market price has also increased several times, and there is still a lot of room for long-term consideration. 2. @memesonbitcoin : The second coin, but with the highest number of holding addresses and a large total supply. In the 1 million inscriptions, Meme accounts for one-tenth. 3.Others such as: Pepe/Punk/Gold and other top ten currencies, as well as interesting currencies such as Domo/RSSC/WZRD. Note: Currently, many OGs in the market are constantly questioning BRC20, but I think questioning is the driving force for progress, at least these questions are constructive. Keep in mind that BTC and ETH also had a lot of problems when they first started, and the initial 10,000 BTC were only enough to buy two pizzas. Controversy is normal, and when everyone is bullish, there is no time or opportunity to get on board. Pure Ordinals, Pure Text, and Various Domain Names 1.Pure Ordinals: Also pure text, such as the simple text of 1-10,000. 2.Pure text: Such as "hello," "sex," or the Hundred Family Surnames, Tang Poetry Three Hundred, and other pure text. 3.Domain names: Currently, there are many domain names on BTC, such as .sats/.btc/.unisat/.ord, and many people are also buying .eth/.okx/.uni, so the entire domain name system has become quite complex. Note: Currently, this entire section is relatively niche and there is not much hype around it. Also, if you want to participate, check on Unisat first to see if the one you want to buy has already been bought by someone else, as buying it then would be pointless. Ⅸ. Common Analysis Tools 1.@ordinalsda ordspace: You can see the distribution of positions for each project and also the price trend line, price aggregation, floor price, etc. 2.@bestinslotxyz : You can see all the details of a certain series on the secondary market, as well as the circulation records of the inscription, and you can observe the wallets you want to see. 3.@DuneAnalytics : A website for data analysis, you can see the trading volume, transaction count, and other related data for various markets. Ordinals-related data can be found at dune.com/domo/ordinals-.... 4.@mempool : A tool for recording on-chain data, you can see the block generation and gas situation of BTC, because the BTC chain is usually slow, your transaction is only considered complete after the block is generated, so you need to keep an eye on it. Visit mempool.space/zh/. 5.Ordinal explor: This seems to be done by the Hiro Wallet, and you can filter and view inscriptions, especially the rare sats. Visit ordinals.hiro.so/explore?r=unco… Note: Some are left on Twitter because following them will give you the latest information, and related websites can be found through their Twitter accounts. I think there is no need to leave the URL for those that do not need to be followed. Ⅹ.Conclusion The last bull market can be said to be the peak of the prosperity of the ETH ecosystem, while this bull market will definitely be led by the BTC ecosystem. I hope that those who read this article can learn about and participate in it as early as possible. After the bull market comes, you will definitely be grateful for your choices now. The reason why I wrote this article is not about money, but purely because of my optimism about the future of the BTC ecosystem and my infinite optimism about Ordinals. Long Bitcoin, Long Ordinals.
