fwiw, the constant discourse and obsession with degen, moxie, and memecoins makes me want to use farcaster and lens much less.

one casino in the city where gamblers can go is fine. but when the entire city is flooded with mini casinos on every corner, and you can’t walk down the street in your neighborhood without passing one, it becomes unlivable and uninviting.

i now strongly believe that all this is net negative for the space.

            I get the feeling...since the begining I keep saying one of the most important subject of research for Lens is feed algorithms. I don't know why this conversation colled down and now apps consume Lens algos or modify it just a little bit.

                      When I switch to Orb, I see much less of this. I only visit a few groups and follow creators I admire.

                      Believe me, I had exactly the same thoughts at the last NFT Paris. A degen jumped on stage with a loud “Let’s go!” and my first thought was that no intelligent person would be keen to try blockchain tech if degens and gamblers are its face. Many people I spoke with agreed.

                      There’s a lot of work to be done in abstracting crypto and shifting away from endless talk about it. We need to move past the degen mentality, focus on solving real problems, and promote new faces as ambassadors of the technology. Hmm, a lot of work indeed.

                          agree 💯. I don’t spend time on fc so I don’t know what happens there. But I don’t see lens - at least my bubble - anything close to a casino.
                          Independently of my pov, you are an awesome dev, you can build on lens or fc if you prefer ;-) whatever you want.
                          I’d love to see an app focusing on an exciting niche/aspect leveraging web3 (or maybe not 🤷♀️) and generating real value (not necessarily financial) for its users.
                          Alternatively you can simply filter all casino ish content on default (and pivot into a zen 🧘♀️ feel good app. Not sure though if that’s a great match with the CT user base we have on lens and even more on fc I guess).
