“RISK AND REWARD”
A piece by @milliframess.lens in collaboration with us
About the piece:
The reason we discovered the location where we took this picture was the same reason I discovered the band Tulengua. That reason is risk and reward. When I was a younger man, I decided to travel outside of my comfort zone and try my networking skills at an art show in city heights. I wasn't doing so well so I walked outside for a smoke break, where I ran into Alan. We talked about photography, and I showed him my photos. He was impressed and invited me to a couple of their music video shoots. Risk and reward my friends. The same way we discovered that location, we walked up and down a mountain with all the drip we could attain on a Sunday morning. After a couple minutes of hiking there was no luck for us, after our first attempt to try to snap the masterpiece, we tried a different location, we got one picture and was removed by security seconds after. Still not satisfied, we tried a different location. Back to the mountain we went. As soon as I saw this weird scaffolding thing hanging off this beautiful cliff with the bluest sky and the whitest clouds I've seen in a minute, the composition just came to my head. It was a love at first sight type of deal. I set up my flash, aligned the band members I can gladly call my friends now due to that risk from the story earlier, and pressed the shutter to now we have this beautiful photograph. All the ups and downs, all the yeses that could've been no's, led to this beautiful photo. Which is why it only seems fair to call it "Risk and reward".
This piece is the second in our monthly LAS CALIFORNIAS series, a project that aims to melt borders and celebrate interdependence. Each month, we will invite an artist from the US side of the border and an artist from the Mexico side of the border to make a piece inspired by our music and ideals. Collect both pieces from both sides of the border for a special surprise + early access to future tulengua drops across the music NFT landscape. (US SIDE).
“Todo Regresa En Algo Nuevo”
A piece by @bofkid.lens in collaboration with us
About the piece:
My encounter with REAL has always been a space of protection, every time I hear it.
All that I want is to thank them for having created it (tulengua). Listening to it live is like a
musical CBD for my mind. The explicit content that my character handles is everything bad that I've wanted to say or do and to transform it into something purposeful and good. I feel that I am falling apart, the power of the visual transforms me, the excuse of making what I do to find an inner fire, a sacred power.
EVERYTHING COMES BACK IN SOMETHING NEW.

PANTIES ON THE FLOOR 💜
hola friends.
our first @soundxyz_ drop of the year is this thursday, jan 26 🥰
this song is "love me well or leave me alone" energy.
2023 time to be fearless about leaving spaces that don't align with our well being.
our view on genres is like our view of borders... the more fluid the better.
ENAMGON is some funky house-flavored psychedelic RnB. the first 11 of our previous collectors (and any lens friends who collected our last posts) can get it fo free before 6pm. after that, it's .01 ETH.
our vision is music as a vehicle for unity consciousness. interdependence. melted borders. god. the remembrance of our belonging to one another. music turns the intangible into waveforms that tune us to a shared frequency. what a time to be alive y que viva la musica 💜
thank you / gracias to all of u who collected the first drops in our monthly Las Californias series.
les apreciamos demasiado 💜
we'll be back 2/22 (and every 22nd day of every month) with one new artist from each side of the border.
anyone who collected has early access to a free mint of a new song we're doing on sound.xyz next Thursday January 26th. it's only free for the first 11 collectors 😉
