Hey everyone! This post is my attempt at some Socratic philosophy. Please read it scenically and with an open mind. The goal of this dialect is to either disprove atheism, or prove that there are two planes of reality. As a gnostic, this is an important exercise in affirming or proving my personal beliefs of the hypostasis. If you think of a good criticism, I would really enjoy it! Here it goes: So we are going to start by making two assumptions that have to be true for reality to exist in only one plane of existence. The first assumption is: The universe must be infinite. If this is untrue then the universe must be contained within another set of reality. The second assumption is that: consciousness is created by a summation of atomic like particles. If this is untrue then consciousness is arising (or in my biased opinion connecting) to our perceived plane of reality. So the first natural question is this: Is consciousness made up of matter? We look at the laws defined and say, “yes, consciousness is made up of matter.” The next question is this, “Given infinite time, should our consciousness be reconstructed by the realignment of matter.” When we look at the laws defined we should answer, “Yes, given an infinite time after death our consciousness should be reconstructed, and it should in fact be ‘us.’” The next question is more perplexing: “Based on the statement that consciousness can be reconstructed given an infinite amount of time, would you say that in an infinite universe, you should be conscious in greater than one location?” While unintuitive, the answer according to our laws is: “yes, of course.” Now the follow up is the real killer, “Then why aren’t you? Why aren’t you or any of the other of billions of humans on earth experiencing.” The clear answer is that one of the two laws is incorrect, imo disproving the notion of atheism. The best counter arguments imo are the monist-everything is happening in your head, but I still think that’s two planes: your head and perceived reality. And, there’s also the argument that consciousness is serial, not continuous, and generated in parallel with the surrounding universe, so the laws would be true and you would just be interacting with parallel universes simultaneously, but I don’t really buy that personally. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed and please lmk your thoughts!

I like to also think about consciousness from a shared perspective, does consciousness need to have shared elements with other people or does it work if someone experiences more than other, I think the answer is yes but them we could argue that imagination is real 🤔

                          • interesting exercise, I think that the statement of the infinite universe is accurate, but that consciousness is made of matter is not, I like how you use rhetoric to assert this. I would add that psychologically it is very difficult to support life on the idea of atheism, since Descartes and this association of reason with the divine, science was placed in the place of god and based on this the masses are manipulated as religion did in the past.

Since you mention it, gnosticism has caught my attention lately, what would you say it consists of? I have been reading Jung for some time and I think he subscribed to gnosis.

Are there multiple possibilities for the decisions we make, or have they already been decided? --A: There are many possibilities, and the actual decision equals which possibility is already decided, like, there are many possibilities for my car's speed gear, and the gear at any given moment is already decided.

                                                                                  2. Are our decisions determined by "us" or by "laws"? --A: Both. It is decided by the law through "us".

                                                                                  3. Do the decisions we make indicate that there is a "non-law" part of the laws of the universe? --A: No. Our decisions are called decisions precisely because they follow the laws of physics, not the other way around, just as a sweeper's turn can be called a decision precisely because the turn is the result of its components and control program working properly, not the result of random interference and error.

                                                                                  4. If it is "possible" for us to make different decisions, where do the other "possibilities" go, do they disappear, or are they in another world? --A: "Possibility" only makes sense for the relaxation condition, i.e., under the approximation condition, the system can be in one of multiple states in a certain interval, not that the system can be in multiple states at a particular moment.

                                                                                  2
