I’m going to enter the music NFT debate .

I think there’s a worthy consideration of people actually wanting to own the history of their actual music consumption and playlists ie the metadata.

We forget that it’s impossible to actually get this from Spotify and they have a closed API.

It’s valuable digital real estate of ours. If Spotify went away tomorrow, I’d lose all my playlist data and consumption history. This to me is actually really important context of who I am and my life journey given the role music plays.

I have lost so many playlists due to platforms change etc 😭 Also it's tiring to be on 2 3 platforms and to not be able to port your playlists there.

I feel you but gotta say Since I got into collecting music NFts I have started to listen on Spotify less and listen to the music NFts I own instead I feel more of a connection with the music and artist I supported and something very special about that also the artist knows you are a fan ✨✨

Ownership and Provenance: NFTs provide a way to prove ownership and authenticity of digital music assets.😝

Agree and on the other side it presents a better method for artists to own digital publishing rights and so much more. It’s the future of digital music…hands down…period…the end.

It's why I still buy so much of music, physical and digital. It's feels good knowing you have it in the worst case streaming scenario, but also to support the artist making it.

But yeah I put so much time into my Spotify playlists, I'd hate to lose that history. (Personalization is what keeps an app sticky).
