Rooting in Web3 — day 4 Introducing Lenstube 🎥
What is Lenstube?
Lenstube is a decentralized video-sharing social media platform, built with @LensProtocol 🌿.
What is that really mean? 🤔
Let me walk you through it!
In Web3, it is all about decentralized this and decentralized that. So in this context, what it really means is that a video being decentralized is being uploaded to "IPFS".
What is IPFS?
"IPFS" or InterPlanetary File System is a protocol and P2P network for storing and sharing data in the distributed file system. This allows the same content could be retrieved from anywhere! In simple meaning, every video uploaded to Lenstube](https://twitter.com/lenstubexyz)) is going permanently forever! 🤯
What Lenstube is solving?
One practical major problem Lenstube is solving is a situation that happened to @lofigirl. Just recently, a video by @lofigirl has been "mistakenly" taken down due to "false copyright strikes" by Youtube.
Be responsible for uploading video to IPFS
Well... you might be thinking it is useful and might be quite alarming at the same time. We understand... It is always been a similar situation when a new technology is invented, someone could abuse it or either use it for good.
In order to build an open world, we all have our parts to play and responsibility to ensure good. I'm pretty sure Lenstube already has this regulation in place and continues to improve. In decentralization, no one can't take down what you uploaded, so please be responsible!
