Another way to implement Zero-Knowledge Proofs in the space: ZK Badges 🎭

In a post, Vitalik talked about @Sismo_eth, a protocol that issues ZK Badges.

They are privacy-preserving Soul-Bound Tokens (non-transferrable NFTs).

What is Sismo?

It's a protocol that allows people to issue and mint ZK Badges.

What is a Zero Knowledge Badge?

It's a Soul-Bound Token (non-transferable NFT) that can provide evidence of something without revealing the actual information.

Example:

Say I want to prove to all of you that I received a $100,000 DYDX airdrop without revealing the wallet that received it.

I could "earn" the badge using that wallet (private) but "mint" the badge using my olimpio.eth wallet (public)

Another example:

Remember Proof of Humanity? A website where you upload a selfie video of yourself holding a piece of paper with your wallet.

Well, I could now do that with my private wallet, and mint a "human-verified" Sismo badge with olimpio.eth without linking wallets.

What can we do with Sismo right now?

We can mint a badge that someone already created.

Or, we can create our own badges as well for others to mint. Some ideas come to mind, stay tuned 👀

How to check if you are already eligible to mint an existing badge?

Log in, launch your vault, and check your eligibility.

Recently, Sismo has started a cooperation with @aztecnetwork, a privacy layer for web3.

No token was confirmed, yet. No airdrop was confirmed. We are speculating here!

Investors:

They did not release any official communication about this, but they had an angel round with VCs like Framework, Seedclub, Delphi and IDEO
