I would like to hear from many people outside of Japan about their knowledge of what I can do to promote my art to the world.

  • As someone without any experience or a background in drawing, my perspective is limited, but I think the best strategies would come from artists who have dedicated time and effort to this craft. Consulting them or learning from their experiences would be much more effective.

That said, I’ve noticed that I’ve discovered all the artists who caught my attention through social media. Platforms like X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Reddit, and forums on the web2 side, as well as web3-based social networks, have been key in this. Reaching a general audience, especially those who aren’t interested in art, can be challenging. You’re less likely to appear in their feeds simply because your work doesn’t align with their interests. However, this doesn’t mean your art won’t catch the attention of some individuals within that broad audience.

I believe it’s always better to first connect with people already interested in art and expand outward from there. Joining art-related communities on various social media platforms, sharing your work there, and leaving engaging comments on posts by artists you admire could significantly increase your visibility. Gradually, this approach could help you reach your target audience, especially since these communities often include people from all over the world.

Additionally, keeping up with trends and sharing key illustrations under certain popular topics could help your work stand out. Creating art that resonates with ongoing conversations or themes can capture the attention of a wider audience.

Ultimately, the most important thing is identifying the niche audience that will connect with your work. The answer lies within you:
    • What is your drawing style?
    • What themes do you explore in your art?
    • Do you focus solely on portraits or human figures?
    • What stories or emotions are you trying to convey, and to whom?

Answering questions like these might help you pinpoint the right audience and spaces to showcase your work.
