Asking wifi passwords and connecting to wifi networks today is such a unnecessary experience. All networks should be open and connect directly to the most efficient ones around you.

              • Also thinked about smartphones p2p network connected to each other through wifi. Needed develop and publish apps for that.

Possible to start at least from Arduino esp32, connected into chain of free wifi network. Such ready to connect device with pre installed software, or easy to install would be cool and cheap.

Reminds me of some DEPIN projects. Demand is real

                    • I'm agree with you. Anyway I'm still don't know how to realize it. Each user pays for his part of cable to access to the internet, and want to split his fee for that, that's why we seen 🔒 everywhere.

I'm sharing my wifi with 2 neighbors without taking fee. My router can access up to 200 users, so it's ok for now.

From time to time I think, that to pay few cents for access to wifi for few hours, when I'm traveling is ok, while seen tons of wifi networks with locks... In this case should be similar software installed on wifi routers, that can take this fee. Some projects I've seen working in this direction, but not sure when it will be on the "orbit", the bottle neck of this is cc processing, because users not so fast will adopt crypto.

On providers level it looks almost impossible... All providers should be in agreement to take at least one payment for global access to any wifi point to move forward.

                      Such thinking...

Then we need new safety standards and protocols too... ?
