I shot this self portrait work again in December 2023, the Wrapped Up In My Head series emerges over and over again as a pivotal chapter in my artistic journey. Originating in 2018 as one of my first bodies of fine art photography. At the time, the series served as a strong yet profound reflection of the hurdles I navigated during that period. Functioning as my visual diary and marker, the recurrence of this theme in 2023 reflects on the cyclical nature of life, with its peaks, valleys, and echoes of the past.

The bandaged head, a central motif in this work, symbolically transcends its role as a means to conceal, protect, or heal external wounds. In this context, it assumes a double significance, embodying not only the scars of yesterday but also the ongoing process of internal healing—an attempt to soothe the internal pain, to quiet the voices within.
