I Am Buying My First EV

I plan to buy my first electric vehicle next month, and this week I'll be test driving (and reviewing here!) the three EVs that I'm considering: 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6; 2024 Tesla Model Y; 2024 BMW i4. Each of the specific models I'm looking at are all in the same price range, with just a few thousand dollars separating them. So, I'll be focusing on the build, performance, and experience of the cars, not the price.

First, a little bit about my driving life. I drive slightly more than 700 kilometers consistently each week. Most of this distance is traveling back and forth to work; the roundtrip is 125 kilometers. I have a very relaxing drive through the country from my small farm to the small city where my office is. My present vehicle gets about 13 km per liter. At this moment, gasoline is $0.79/liter in my area of the US.

If I were buying another gas-powered vehicle, I would never consider a BMW because it requires premium fuel and the added expense would be unjustifiable [premium fuel is at least 25% more expensive in the US].
