Three years ago today, I went for a walk and saw this wild cat sitting in the morning sun after a cold and stormy night.

I knew my life was about to change...

It took all day to catch him. He was nearly starved under all that matted fur. I took to him to the vet where they confirmed he had been dumped with no registered owner. The vet said, 'congratulations, you found yourself a cat'.

Life was pretty uncertain - I'd just moved out of Melbourne as COVID was kicking off and didn't have anywhere permanent to stay. But Porky was coming with me anyway.

He got the name Porcini because he was sitting under a tree, in autumn, and smelled like mushrooms 😂

Health scare for a year as he had picked up ultra rare cat leprosy living in the wild, but we got him back to health and now he lives his best life.

Happy three years together, pork chop!
