Anyone else used to say BONSAI before doing something fun like jumping into the pool?

If you didn’t, it was a thing. On Reddit there’s a wise sage suggesting it traces back to World War Two, and is roughly translated to “long live the emperor” in Japanese.

Dating myself a bit here but my first exposure to it was in the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons where Mikey would say Kowabunga and Raphael would say BONSAI
