Do people even realize what an effect vaporwave, a genre born on the internet entirely without permission, had on modern aesthetics?

Man, those old days of discovering truly weird and experimental music on Soundcloud and YouTube. It was the wild west and people weren't afraid to try anything with the democratizing tools of the DAW and an internet full of listeners.

THAT is how internet culture should feel.

I have a bunch of vintage New Orleans and Mardi Gras themed lithograph posters. I'm still trying to research who the artist is but it's pre-internet so there's not much info. I am picking the brains of my local elders, etc. The images are definitely iconic designs I have seen around the French Quarter and are heavily borrowed from by other local vendors and artists.
