The Business of Gaming
For anyone interested in (Web3) gaming and investing in gaming, I can highly recommend this podcast: open.spotify.com/episode/5vGMPFQiUTEtwhUwQYBB0S?si=10656b479c8e4084
Mitch Lasky is a general partner at the Silicon Valley venture capital firm Benchmark and a former entrepreneur and video game executive. In this podcast he shares a lot of great knowledge and thoughts around video games in general. Around 47:40 he starts talking about Web3 and that part is great alpha for what to look for in Web3 games. He talks about the Three Body Problem in Web3:
"In a classic video game environment you have the developer and the user. It’s a stable relationship and power can go between the two of them. In Web3 the third body is the speculator and three body problems are inherently unstable."
He continues talking about monetization in games:
"Best monetization schemes are the most organic and almost invisible in terms of their relationship to the overall design and play experience. We haven’t yet seen the Web3 games that have reached that level of success. Where the Web3 components are at a level of infrastructure and design that makes them almost transparent and invisible to the play experience."
This might be the most important sentence in the podcast:
"Somebody who has solved that three body problem of integrating the player, the developer and the speculator in a coherent and mutually reinforcing way, where they don’t feel antagonistic is going to be the winner."
Use this last sentence for researching upcoming Web3 games and you have a clear framework for assessing a project's potential!
EthLizards staking is around the corner!👀
With the redeployment of Ethlizards Genesis V1 and V2 starting tomorrow (00:00 UTC March 28th), staking will launch very soon after. Looking forward to having my Lizards staked, while waiting for the eventual Web3 Gaming bull run!
$Arb airdrop claim guide
Goal: To get your hands on $ARB asap (before the masses claiming on the website) and then sell it for a high price or to send it to an exchange to sell it there with a higher price (similar to $OP at $4 on Coinbase when that airdrop went live).
As per docs.arbitrum.foundation/airdrop-eligibility-distribution the contracts addresses are:
·Token ($ARB): arbiscan.io/address/0x912CE59144191C1204E64559FE8253a0e49E6548
·Token Distributor (Claim contract): arbiscan.io/address/0x67a24CE4321aB3aF51c2D0a4801c3E111D88C9d9
Claiming starts at this block number: etherscan.io/block/countdown/16890400
Steps:
1. Get enough ETH on Arbitrum
2. Pre approve Arb on Uniswap (#1 DEX), Sushi (#2) or Camelot (#3) (optional)
3. Write the claim contract (1) here by connecting your wallet on Arbiscan: arbiscan.io/address/0x67a24CE4321aB3aF51c2D0a4801c3E111D88C9d9#writeContract
4. Then, either:
a. Sell your Arb on a Arbitrum DEX for a good price (Uniswap, Sushi or Camelot)
b. Send it to an exchange with a good price (Coinbase, Binance, Kucoin, etc) and sell it there
