Here is a free gift, a picture of thousands of tiny galaxies hundreds of millions of LY away from us
The pleiades, also known as M45, is a very bright cluster of stars in the constellation taurus. You can see it with the naked eye unless in very light polluted skies as a small cloud of stars where the 7 brightest stars can be discerned. There is a lot of cosmic dust in the background and the blue color is given by the new, very hot stars in the center.
Yesterday Jupiter was the closest it has been to our planet since the last 60 years, and wont be this close again until 2129
I managed to grab a few minutes of images despite the wind and the bad weather and i think the result isnt half bad, wonder how it would have looked in better conditions
Captured a video of Jupiter rotating last night. Jupiter rotates VERY quickly, completing one rotation around its axis in 10 hours. This video is a collection of images taken over 45 minutes which show the giant red spot. The red spot is an enormous (it's as big as the whole earth!) storm that has been going on for over 350 years.
Been playing a bit with @lenster.lens after a while and i am massively impressed by the progress. The new dispatcher makes UX 10x better and everything is nice and smooth.
