🔥 Today, at the 3rd Annual Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano, Tether unveiled a life-sized statue of Satoshi Nakamoto. This statue, placed outside Villa Ciani, symbolizes Satoshi’s revolutionary impact and the principles of decentralization and financial freedom.
Sculpted by Valentina Picozzi, the statue is a tribute to Satoshi’s enigmatic legacy—it disappears from view as you change your perspective, reflecting Satoshi’s retreat into anonymity.
👏 Honoring innovation, embracing the future.
💭🪼The immortal jellyfish (Turritopsis dohrnii) is native to the Mediterranean Sea and Japan, and has an extraordinary ability: it can essentially reverse its aging process and start life again, potentially living forever.
When the Turritopsis dohrnii faces injury, illness, or other stress, it can revert its cells to their earliest form, transforming from an adult jellyfish back into a polyp, the earliest stage of its life cycle. From there, it can mature once again into an adult, effectively bypassing death and beginning its life cycle all over.
This process, called “transdifferentiation”, is rare and has intrigued scientists because it offers insights into cellular reprogramming and the aging process. While this jellyfish isn’t truly immortal in the sense that it can't die from injury or predation, its ability to rejuvenate makes it one of the most unique creatures on Earth. This biological marvel raises questions about aging and longevity that could one day inform medical research and human health. Pretty awesome! 🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼

WHEN FORM COMES ALIVE - Untitled (Mylar) by Tara Donovan is created from thousands of flat, reflective discs of Mylar (a metallic polyester film) which have been folded, hot glued, and massed into spheres of varying sizes. Together they form a gigantic agglomeration that appears to mimic the growth patterns of biological or molecular structures… 🧬 🫧 🌿
HOUSES BUILT ON SAND by Calvin Seibert:
“I rarely start with a plan, just a vague notion of trying to do something each time. Once I begin building and forms take shape, I can start to see where things are going and either follow that road or attempt to contradict it with something unexpected.” 🏰🪣 🌊✨
Spring has definitely sprung: just heard my first ice cream truck of S/S 2024. Forget FOMO, it’s all about FOMI (Fear of Missing Ice Cream).
