A court has found Craig Steven Wright, known as 'Dr Bitcoin', guilty of forging documents in an effort to prove that he was the creator of the cryptocurrency. The court heard testimony from witnesses who worked with Wright in his attempts to back up his claims, and concluded that the documentation had been forged.

Wright's supporters argued that he had acted as a sort of gatekeeper for the cryptocurrency, and that it would be impossible for anyone else to have access to the network or its coins without him.
