ETHBTC is about to experience a capitulation event going into the BTC spot ETF approvals. I believe the market at large is ignoring several factors influenced heavily by dragging price:
PoW has been highly critiqued and still looked at in a negative manner with those who adhere to ESG mandates.
PoS provides ETH holders with a base yield that will be considered as the safest bond instrument in the entire digital asset space.
EIP-1559 means ETH is a deflationary asset that yields 3.4% APR. When narrative shifts from BTC back to ETH expect the burn rate to accelerate which is highly reflexive for Ethereums price.
In summary, I expect the rotation into Ethereum to be violent driven by embracing PoS as the superior consensus mechanism from those with ESG mandates. In terms of market cycles, BTC.D initially dominates becoming a liquidity black hole until capital rotates and forms the cycles ETHBTC bottom.
Finally a BTC spot ETF approval gives legitimacy to an ETH spot ETF with the deadline for spot ETF approvals in May 2024.
