In a posting on social media last week, Murphy said state officials were "actively monitoring the situation and in close coordination with our federal and law enforcement partners."
"There is no known threat to the public at this time," Murphy said.
Murphy's assurances did little to quiet the concerns of residents and other officials across the state. In a statement](https://www.facebook.com/FlorhamparkPD/posts/pfbid0kykSehKqhVCCeSJFWo1fDJ3n6u9QoqDwKKeaL8pmkQxg5fee9jjHqghhXiFe25tDl?rdid=RAm3OVPFn9QtNVJq)) posted to Facebook last week, the police chief of Florham Park, N.J., said "their presence appears nefarious in nature." And during a House hearing on Monday focused on unmanned aerial systems, N.J. Rep. Chris Smith, a Republican, said he thought the drones were a "very serious threat."
A suicide bombing in the Afghan capital on Wednesday killed the Taliban refugee minister and two others, officials said, in the most brazen attack on a member of the Taliban inner circle since they returned to power three years ago.
The explosion struck inside the ministry, killing Khalil Haqqani, officials said. His last official photo showed him at a meeting chaired by the deputy prime minister, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, earlier Wednesday.
Khalil Haqqani is the uncle of Sirajuddin Haqqani, the acting interior minister who leads a powerful network within the Taliban.
Haqqani was the most high-profile casualty of a bombing in Afghanistan since the Taliban returned to power and the first Cabinet member to be killed since the takeover. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
Foxx weaves in some hilarious jokes and asides throughout the telling of his trauma. While he's known for movies such as Ray, Collateral and Django Unchained, his roots are in stand up and sketch comedy.
"I saw the tunnel. I didn't see the light," he says. Then he deadpans, "I thought I saw the devil. Or was it Puffy?" A reference to Sean "Diddy" Combs. The internet was full of rumors](https://pagesix.com/2024/10/24/celebrity-news/jamie-foxx-addresses-whether-diddy-was-responsible-for-hospitalization/)) that Foxx would blame Combs for his hospitalization. But Foxx does give the jailed music mogul a good ribbing.
Throughout the special, Foxx repeatedly gets choked up thinking about the impact his hospitalization had on his family and friends.

An Associated Press journalist in Damascus reported seeing groups of armed residents along the road in the outskirts of the capital and hearing sounds of gunshots. The city's main police headquarters appeared to be abandoned, its door left ajar with no officers outside. Another AP journalist shot footage of an abandoned army checkpoint where uniforms were discarded on the ground under a poster of Assad's face.
Residents of the capital reported hearing gunfire and explosions. Footage broadcast on opposition-linked media showed a tank in one of the capital's central squares while a small group of people gathered in celebration. Calls of "God is great" rang out from mosques.
In October, the Federal Trade Commission issued a consumer alert about the "risky business" of sale-leasebacks.
"The ads make these agreements — called sale-leasebacks — sound like a simple and risk-free way to get cash upfront and stay in your home," reads the alert. "But the truth is these agreements are far from risk-free."

ICE, with more than 20,000 employees, is the agency in charge of immigration enforcement, including fighting human smuggling and removals.
This agency is also the one that manages detention facilities and establishes collaborations with local governments. ICE was created in 2003 after the merger of the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and the U.S. Customs Service.
Officers from ICE will likely carry out Trump's promises of deporting millions of immigrants who are in the country illegally.
Both Scott and Vitello will work closely with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who last month was nominated to lead the Department of Homeland Security. DHS oversees all immigration agencies, including CBP, ICE, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Barnier's critics accused him in parliament of leading a government "without democratic legitimacy," in a sign that appointing a new government may prove complicated, since it too could face no-confidence votes, unless one of the party blocs can attract enough supporters from other parts of the political spectrum to form a firm majority alliance.
Marine Le Pen, a strong proponent of more muscular immigration restrictions and anti-crime policies, criticized Barnier to his face during the no-confidence debate Wednesday, saying he had proposed a technocratic budget that refused "to tackle the causes of the dizzying increase in security concerns and crime faced by the country."
Still, the plan drew pushback from at least some Tesla shareholders, including Richard Tornetta, who objected to the compensation package and filed a lawsuit against Musk and Tesla in 2018.
In his suit, Tornetta alleged that Musk exercised outsized influence with the board when it crafted the plan and that investors were misled when they were asked to approve it.
Musk has pushed back against those allegations, denying at trial that he dictated terms of the pay package or attended meetings where it was discussed.
Lawyers for Tornetta on Monday praised McCormick's decision and said the ruling "declined Tesla's invitation to inject continued uncertainty into Court proceedings."
