I’m so happy to announce that Jenya was released from the hospital today, she is finally home where she belongs with her family.
Jenya was diagnosed with a rare but life threatening blood disease called atypical HUS which affected her kidneys and led to kidney failure.
Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) is a disease that causes abnormal blood clots to form in small blood vessels in the kidneys. These clots can cause serious medical problems if they restrict or block blood flow, including hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and kidney failure.
The team at Stanford did an amazing job of helping Jenya get back on her feet and after diagnosis she was prescribed a special medication called Eculizumab that she will need to take for the unforeseeable future, possibly the rest of her life.
This is still not the end of the road for her, she will need to have dialysis at least three times per week and has been prescribed a bunch of medication to help her with recovery. She is on a bunch of other medications to help with her symptoms.
It’s still unknown if her kidneys will fully recover from this disease. They will watch her lab work weekly and adjust her other medications as needed. So please continue to think of her and our family.
The boys and I are so happy to have her home with us. She is going thru a slew of emotions at the moment but is so thankful to everyone’s support and messages of love she’s received. I will continue to post more updates here as they come.

Last Tuesday my wife gave birth to our beautiful baby boy Sebastian.
Unfortunately immediately after Jenya experienced some serious complications which eventually led to kidney failure and a number of other problems. She was airlifted to Standford Hospital and admitted to the ICU. She is under great care now and is fighting for her health.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. This is a hard time for us, because Jenya is going to be stuck in the hospital most likely for weeks if not months and it’s still uncertain how much the damage is to her body. She is such an amazing person and I love her so much.
Any donations or collects will help with medical bills, gas to get back and forth to visit Jenya as well as food and supplies for the baby.
Please repost this. #health #love #help #hospital #medical
