With Lens' new scalability capabilities, we introduce Social Legos, the building blocks of onchain social innovation. These powerful social features allow developers to build on a truly modular social stack, unlocking new capabilities for identity, connection, and discoverability. Each feature is carefully crafted to be customisable, user-owned, and frictionless.
The identity layer on Lens has two core primitives: Accounts and Usernames. Accounts are smart contracts using EVM addresses as unique IDs. They're portable for easy use with all Lens features and apps. These immutable Accounts are yours forever. Users can assign managers and set permissions for secure account access.
An Account can have multiple Usernames across different applications. Developers can opt for using the global Namespace for shared Usernames, or create a unique one for custom Username management, monetisation, and rules.
$BONSAI everywhere: soon on the new @lens protocol!
Bonsai would not be where it is without the Lens community. We’ll always go where they go!
We’re happy to announce that we’re expanding to the Lens network 🌳
Users have different usernames on different social apps, and the same should apply to Lens — without losing Account portability.
