Codex Gigas is the world's largest medieval manuscript of the 13th century, created in a Benedictine monastery in the Czech town of Podlážice.

The entire work was probably done by one person, taking 20 to 30 years to complete; according to circumstantial evidence, the manuscript was finished by 1230. It measures 50 centimeters wide and 90 centimeters long, and the block weighs 75 kilograms.
The manuscript is also popularly known as the “devil's bible” because of its unusual full-page portrait of Satan in a diaper.
