Unite knowledge with action and stick to the end.
The motivation to persist originates from two sources:
A deep-seated desire—what I simply want to do, driven by passion, interest, and ideals.
A rational compulsion—what I feel I ought to do, guided by cognition and reason.
Both of these sources can provide ample drive to sustain persistence.
Buffett’s investment categories:
Can’t make money on its own: Like gold, which depends on price increases.
Can generate money (future cash flow): Like farms. It makes money through price mistakes and increasing value from better performance. Even without immediate profit, it brings steady cash flow.
Buffett prefers the second type for higher safety. He doesn’t like Bitcoin because it doesn’t generate cash flow and has a complex valuation system. He also avoids real estate due to less price fluctuation and lower liquidity.

Do not excessively extend goodwill towards individuals of a lower cognitive dimension.
The lower someone’s cognitive level, the more their primal instincts emerge, which essentially leads to a survival-of-the-fittest mentality.
What you may perceive as empathy from your end will likely be interpreted by them as a sign of weakness, making them feel entitled to take advantage of you. They will regard manipulating you as effortlessly as squashing an ant.
The petty and malicious are driven by fear of authority, not by moral principles.

I try to hold the umbrella for others because I know what it’s like to get wet.
When I hold the umbrella, I protect not just the person under it, but the sunshine in my heart.
I don’t believe in gods, but I do believe in karma.

There is a kind of weakness that shows up when there is a strong outside force.
The same situation can lead to very different results depending on the level of weakness.
How do we define weakness? It includes factors like leverage, liquidity, fundamentals, profit levels, valuation, and expectations.

The problems in a startup grow with the number of people in it.
This is why startups need to keep their teams small to lower unnecessary communication costs.
