We should see the new Hyundai Santa Fe midsize SUV later this year, with a more rugged shape and sporting elements recognizable from the new Hyundai Kona and refreshed Hyundai Sonata sedan. The overall shape of the SUV, codenamed MX5, is much boxier, as spy shots have revealed. That is because Hyundai changed how it approached the new Santa Fe, Hyundai and Genesis Global Design Head SangYup Lee tells MotorTrend in an interview.

McLaren has a reputation for producing the most hardcore supercars that resemble racing cars among the cars running on ordinary roads. One of their flagship models is the McLaren GT.

Hyundai's domestic factories, including the Ulsan plant, produced a total of 482,326 vehicles in the first quarter of this year, exceeding their original production capacity of 427,081 units. This resulted in a factory utilization rate of 112.9%, marking a 16.2% increase compared to the same period last year when the utilization rate was 96.7%.

Hyundai's first overseas production base and a key hub for its European expansion, the factory in Turkey, recorded a utilization rate of 114.9% despite a relatively lower production volume of 62,600 units in the first quarter. This is the highest level among Hyundai's production bases.

The Hyundai factories in the Czech Republic and Montgomery, Alabama, USA, also achieved high utilization rates of 103.4% and 101.3%, respectively. While their utilization rates were in the 80% range during the same period last year, they operated at full capacity throughout this year's first quarter.

Tesla, a US electric vehicle manufacturer, has released data on the performance of the battery cells in its Model S sedan and Model X SUV. These models were introduced in 2012 and 2016, respectively. Tesla has revealed that battery capacity decreases as the battery is charged and discharged repeatedly, resulting in a reduction in the vehicle's driving range. Battery degradation can be tracked based on mileage, but batteries also degrade over time. Tesla sold 1.3 million vehicles worldwide and analyzed some of the battery data in a corporate impact report released last year. Tesla claims that even after driving about 200,000 miles, the Model S and X vehicles maintain up to 88% of their battery capacity. This is slightly different from what Tesla claimed in its 2020 impact report, which stated that the battery maintained up to 90% of its capacity after driving the same distance.
