They applied to receive a grant from Optimism in the form of $OP. This application was accepted and the vote passed in Snapshot, so Optimism sent them 900,000 $OP tokens, almost 1,000,000 USD
In three days, Pika is distributing a portion of the 900,000 $OP they received to people who used the protocol before July 16, 22.
How are the 900,000 $OP tokens being distributed?
• 150,000 for traders
• 600,000 for LPs
• 150,000 for grants
Today's airdrop is retroactive, and they are using 30% of the 150,000 and 20% of the 600,000. This means that today's airdrop is worth 165,000 $OP
There is still 585,000 $OP in Pika Protocol's Treasury that is meant to be airdropped to future traders and future LPs - this is 100% confirmed on their docs. Do with that as you may 👀
Today's airdrop - eligibility criteria:
• Early LPs with negative PnL of more than 20 USDC (120,000 $OP)
• Early traders with trade fees of more than 10 USDC (45,000 $OP)
This $OP airdrop is unrelated to a potential future $PIKA token - but we can use this as a glimpse of what their future eligibility criteria might be.
$OP will be claimable on September 2 up until December 2, 2022. After that, unclaimed $OP will be returned to the treasury
