LIP Idea: non-composable profile banners

Stop sharing banners across frontends. They're not like pfps, each platform should have its own vibe the user can personalize.

🤔 has the banner more vibes than the content?
-> wouldn’t be the consequence or actually the first step not to share the posts and comments across frontends?

agree, especially with inconsistent formatting (horizontal vs vertical) it always messes up the vibe lol

makes sense - also if you want to use a non-standard aspect ratio for your app etc. AFAIK apps can do this if they want already! They can just store the cover picture URIs in a custom profile metadata attribute, rather than in the standard coverPicture one

                  • can’t agree more with this 👍🏽

lr maybe the protocol will only take care of the pfp and let clients decide how to use their own banner 🤔

Individual per Application, but a fallback if none is set.
