Children's temper comes and goes quickly, as if nothing had happened soon; adults' temper comes fast but goes slowly, like a dark cloud lingering in their mind.
This is probably because children express their emotions based on specific incidents, while adults, the incident at hand is just a triggering point for their bad mood. It may only be one dark cloud among many others in their minds that have not dissipated.
